To produce a publication inspired by an object.

Design ProcessA pair of socks gifted by my dear friend was chosen as the inspiration. As a result, the concept of complete but incomplete was derived from how people find a sock after their pairs mysteriously disappear. The sock could still work individually, but it was originally designed to work optimally when paired.

The book was physically designed to be readable independently—both in form and content—but it functions best, and the content becomes whole, when the two copies are read side by side.

Additionally, the book features writings and photography of instances when pairs from various works of art and real phenomena have been forcibly separated, such as Layla and Majnun.
